The Back Bedroom by Gregg Olsen #truecrime #bookreview

Overview

A charismatic cult leader is driven to horrifying extremes in a shocking true crime short story by Gregg Olsen, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of If You Tell.

In 1976, in the sealed back bedroom of a home in Washington state, authorities found the decomposing body of three-year-old Davey Weilbacher, beaten to death nearly two months prior. Beyond that bedroom door was self-proclaimed prophet Leon Cunningham, who convinced his sheltered cult of family and friends—including Davey’s lost young mother—that the boy was possessed by the Devil. Exorcism was the only way to save him, leading to a ritualistic campaign of abuse, control, unimaginable violence, and murder.

Gregg Olsen delivers a meticulously researched account of religious manipulation, domestic terror, and one woman’s fifty-year journey to finally tell the truth about what happened behind closed doors in that modest little yellow house in Yakima.

Review

What the @*#% did I just read!

This is one wild tale! I have never heard of this so this took me a bit by surprise. And to know what this poor child went through will break your heart. All based on some crazy person with a religious fetish. I mean…a self proclaimed prophet…he knows all!! This story will infuriate you!

This is a short book narrated by Karen Peakes. I have no idea how she did not let her emotions get in the way. Very professional!

Gregg Olsen has written quite a few thriller novels. I have been a fan for years! But his true crime books are my favorites. He finds obscure crimes that just plain creep you out! I am here for it!

Need a true crime tale to get your blood flowing…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.

I received this from the publisher for a honest review.
