This is a bit of a slow burn!
Charlie and Freya used to be the picture-perfect couple. Happy and in love, Freya enjoyed a rewarding job heading up a charity’s fundraising efforts, and Charlie was fast becoming one-to-watch on the London culinary scene—if you couldn’t be them, you wanted to be with them.
Charlie and Freya are in a bit of a mess. Their relationship has changed and not for the better. They are struggling and there is so much distrust and damage. It all starts with an evening where several misinterpretations take place! These two…you never know which one is at fault, that is, until you do!
I did fluctuate between 3 and 4 stars. But then the twist happened and that catapulted this into the solid 4 star read.
The narrators, Anna Burnett and Matthew Biddulph, are very good. I love a male/female tag team.
